Almost every Indian household prepares its food by adding ginger and garlic paste. Without the paste, the food tastes a bit bland. However, preparing the paste on a daily basis can be a bit of a task, that’s why most people either put the packaged ginger and garlic paste that is easily available in the market or they make it in the homes. The packaged paste comes with a limited shelf life, but on the other hand, the paste made at home can be preserved, if taken care.
With these following three methods of making and storing the paste, you will be able to use it effectively.
First method:
First, peel 250 grams ginger and 250 grams of garlic, and wash them in regular water. Make sure that they are completely dry before you move on to the next step.
When you feel that ginger and garlic are completely dry, put some water in the mixer grinder and add half a teaspoon of salt to it and mix it well to prepare a fine paste of ginger. Repeat the same process with garlic.
Don’t make a combined paste of ginger and garlic, but a separate one for each. Once the pastes are done, take them out in a separate vessel and add two spoons of refined oil. Second method:
Peel off both 250 grams of ginger and garlic, and wash them thoroughly. Dry out both ingredients. Grind them together and add half a teaspoon of salt in to the paste. Salt increases paste’s durability. After mixing them well, store the paste in airtight containers, and don’t forget to sprinkle some vinegar on the top of the paste. Third method:
This third method includes peeling, grating, and spreading the ginger (only), and spreading it onto a butter paper. Put it under the sun and dry it, and then finally grind it in the mixer.
The next step involves, washing the garlic without peeling off its skin. Grind it before you lay it out in the sun to dry. Or you can just keep the mixture in a powder form, and use it accordingly by adding some water in it.
